Sorry lads especially to those who has been ~~stalking~~ following me. Being so quiet on the blog-sphere was due to work - lecture, freelance and personal stuff.

Good news is, I'm planning to put some of my stuff from sketchbook, nothing fancy, not about beautiful illustrations, real intention is to share and hope it helps anyone especially students that came across this blog. They're just purely fundamentals and I think foundation/basic is the core to everything. So stay tunes guys!

I'm back after so long, no excuses for not updating my blog but just pure laziness. Tbh, been very hectic at work also and it's becoming more challenging everyday. Nyway, since it's Nov which it's getting to the year end, let's see what I've achieved versus what I suppose to aimed on my Jan post.

The Dream (January):

1) Make sure my students know how to draw well, work hard u rascals and rascalines!

2) Ryan Church, you might have to hang up ur pen.

The reality (November):

3) Myvi's not that bad huh. After surveying, Swift's 2nd hand value is not that promising.

Been away for quite sometime, very busy with work and had more experience in life. Being a lecturer is fun but nevertheless, it's a huge responsible and challenging. Have to deal with a lot of different people with different thoughts and get criticised as well.

Some say I'm a being too lenient to students, soft and pampering which I agreed at first but nevertheless, in my own opinion, these students need help and deserve chances to perform better. But of course, not spoon feeding them, instead teaching them slowly, step by step discipline and trusting each other. Learning should be fun instead of just mere pressure and workload and I fully understand the industry in this country is cruel and without shadow of a doubt that almost every employer in this country are completely tossers. You don't need to be like each and every one of them to survive in this industry or being successful!

We've got a lot of talented fresh meat in this country but it's a shame what we cannot deliver like what we've seen on the big screen. Question is why? One thing is that we always think we work for money but never think of how money works for us. Yes, recently I'm gutted with the word "money" but working for just money will make you lose passion and direction in life. Working for what you love and money will eventually comes to you later and of course in order to do so, good patience is a MUST.

It came back, that feeling that I hated it literally came back. Saw the changed of "the" profile picture and I thought by ignoring and deleted all the contacts I will eventually forget bout it. Seems like it doesn't work and not sure it will in the near future. It has been years, been through a lot of hard times and I just want to empty the recycle bin or format everything in my mind. Yes, if you are reading this, it has been more than 5 years.

I started work on Monday, quite enjoy and comfortable with the environment. Now I really need to just draw, draw, draw and draw!! I can't stop drawing and painting at the moment! Have to be better than Mr. S and all those that were downstairs. Massive challenge lies ahead of me and hope to give all my best to this job and will be doing my best to help those in need with my knowledge and experience. RAWR!!

Okay, I hv been away for months and I'm gonna sum up what I've been doing all the while. I resigned from my position at RJDM(UK) after 2 years of working there, had a break for a month. Then I packed all my stuff and got my arse back to Malaysia, and to my surprise, I've got an offer to work somewhere in Sunway and I accepted it deliberately and now after another 3 weeks of break hopefully I will be accepted. *finger's crossing* Not bad to be back at Malaysia even though I had some culture shock during the first day I arrived, but well.. it's nice to be home, met up with some old mates and very happy to see my family and relatives. I will be missing UK, miss the fish and chips, miss ASDA, miss London underground, miss those scums and chavs, miss those pubs with Freddy Mercury's music on and of course, some amazing friends I've got to know there. Nevertheless, I am still planning to go back there end of next year, hopefully if those MP don't keep changing the immigration rules again! That's all about my summary, folks.

What exactly is life in general to you? Life, as it was defined in one of the phrases in wikipedia, it says "In philosophy and religion, the conception and nature of life varies, and offer interpretations in the frameworks of existence and consciousness, and touch on many other related issues, such as, ontology, value, life stance, purpose, conceptions of God, the soul and the afterlife." It sounds complicated but yet interesting and for me the existance of life serves a purpose..any kind of purpose that are difficult for some of us to nurture the real meaning of life in an instant. Purpose.. yes, nowadays, it's sort of contradicted to what "life" was meant in the past. I came across couple of anecdotes about other people's life online, found it fascinating - some have a good life and bad ones..After reading all of them, I then paused and think about the good and bad life. Does it literally mean that good life at the present equivalent to good in every aspects - good career, finance, love, everything that stays positive? And so for bad life would be jobless, living in poverty and lost of love? From here, a conclusion could be.. life = money? If someone who are financially stable, he/she wouldn't have to goes through a lot of obstacles in life if compare to those that are poor. Prior to that, you need lots of money to get a proper education, for marriage and for funeral and so it's all predominantly about money. Seriously as one of many billions of homo sapiens in this planet, I m just gonna say it once, Aliens or any Extra Terrestrial out there, please don't visit Earth as this is a very horrendous place to be living in. Earthlings are blinded with "the bloody thing that has images of whoever heads being stamped on a piece of rectangular paper or round(sometimes hexagon) metal" (I wonder if they do have any bank notes and coins in Heaven and Hell). The whingging stops here.

Yes, summer is approaching, no in fact it is already here now. Went out today and have a walk under the very hot sun(about 22 degree) and it is something to be proud of because you can only get to see Mr Sunlight once a year.. well, sometimes you don't even get to see him at all ~~in this shit country~~. Being a person who has lived my life here for quite some time and I really appreciate the appearance of Mr Sunlight even despite "some people" chastised me by saying I haven't been back to Malaysia for a while and that summer here is nothing. -_-" But anyway, *fingers crossed* hope Mr Sunlight will continue to dwell so I can do some interesting outdoors.

Yes! I'm back to the world of blog sphere after disappeared for 3 months! First of all, apologies for all readers that follows my blog, SORRY MATES! and a quick greetings for you guys too. So, Happy belated X'mas, happy belated new 2009 year and happy belated Chinese New Year to everyone! lolz :D I've been really busy in the past couple of months cause I'm on an animation project for Tom Jones music video, went to Japan for holiday for 2 1/2 weeks and being super lazy to click on www.blogger.com! Due to several complains for being an inactive blog by a few mates of mine, they said it turns out to be an eye sore on their Mozilla's Bookmark(yea... rite -_-") Anyway, I'm back! I feel "Fantastick", just like what Jose Mourinho said on this video here:

Anyway, I will skip my xmas celebration, new year celebration or whatever celebration stories, BUT the story of me in Japan is without shadow of a doubt, "fantastick". Japan or literally known as Nippon-koku is a *uckin' amazing-mega-paradise country with good food everywhere, good transportations, good citizens(very good menace and attitude!), good environment('cause it's very very clean and safe) and nontheless good looking girls form each and every corner!

Just like in manga. Sorry guys, just the back but trust me, this student is fit/hot! Not being a hentai here but she's being ostentatious enough to be observed :P

My itinerary was just on Kansai prefectures which includes Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe and Nara and I was staying in one of my childhood mate's(Mr. L) house in Tarumi, Kobe and therefore I shall give you big thank you for offering me a free accommodation and as an appreciation, I am tempted to treat you Fish and Chips in return if you come to the UK one day :D Alright, here's a couple of pictures that I took:

Last week and this week was a very hectic period and literally I worked till 12am and even on the weekends! But there's nothing I can do about it since the deadline given was so fucked up thus I went rampaged in the studio and became an undisputed whiner! Didn't get much sleep nor have time to fully ultilise my new kitchen to do some proper meal and spent almost 10 quid everyday on take away plus with the cold weather, it is impossible for a thin guy like me to go out and get some food. Feeling devastated from work and while on the way back home, I could hear some noises coming around from my house and I thought "aih..maybe some renovation going on in my house again, give me a break!" As soon as I went in to my surprised, my landlord was having a small Spanish feast and those meals was not an ordinary Spanish food, it was a traditional Catalan! So that day really does brighten up me 'cause I could have free meals! Weeeeee!!!!!! :D

I forgot the name of this kind of sausages, but what it does made me spent like 3 minutes chewing each of 'em. Pwned!

Right, at first I don't find anything special in this with just tomato on a baguette. And I was wrong, the baguette eventually absorb the juices and both blends well that gave an excellent taste. Try to do it urself at home and I'm pretty sure you'll like it. And again, ownage!

Lastly, Tortilla! One of my all time fav food and even though I know how to do one but mine's nothing if to compare with this mastepiece! It was just simply *&^%$£* awesome!! Mooonnnssster killll!!
I apologised for the lack of pictures but that time I was really hungry and just spending time eating and later that night we were just having a drinking session and getting a pissed.

I think I have had enough for having lame food here, especially for me who can only get myself a lunch from a local shop in some rural area. Needless to say and undoubtedly, I miss the Malaysian delight! I seriously thought that my level of endurance of having bread every single day for consecutive 1.6 years(since started working) was a real pain in the arse. Now I seems to have problem with any kinds of bread, literally I will regurgitate when I eats it or even when I looked at it and I feel sick!

Random baguette with crisps and raspberry danish. I have taken these type of sh*ts for more than a year and I didn't even realised it until my mum asked me what I had for lunch everyday. Could you able to cope with these kind of sh*ts? Could you?? Or worst case scenario, if they doesn't have any baguette, the only thing I could do is this:

Ah.. it's like 2 months since my last update in this blog. Well.. work has been very hectic and plus I'm kinda lazy to blog nowadays (apart from my art blog). Recently, I've got a Kaya(coconut egg jam) from one of my friend and brought it to the company for my toast. And this is what happen:

Door open in the morning as usual, I walked straight to the kitchen and put my precious Kaya into the fridge and Tom who was doing the blinds at the same time was curious about it. (I don't usually get something in hence the reason why his curiosity hormones started to rage..) I walked off without realise that he is inspecting the fridge until I head he said,"What the fuck is that shit?"

I stopped.. turned back and say to myself, "Shit? You called the best spread I or.. probably the entire Malaysians favourite spread.. a Shit?! What a naive bloke." After that, he came into the other room and both us working as usual until lunch time.

Me: Luke, you wanna try something good? You've ask from me before and I brought it today.

Luke: Really..? Yea, I'll give it a go then.

Me: (Brought the kaya out from the fridge and showed it to Luke.)

Luke: .....

Me: .....

Luke: ....so... what is this?

Me: Something good that you will never forget. An egg-coconut jam I would say. C'mon you said you wanna give it a go.

Luke: Err...
(Basically he observe the kaya and then uses his finger to take some bits of it and then...)

Luke: EMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. What is this? Taste pretty nice, I can not believe that it has eggs in it.

Me: Ha ha.. Well, it is pretty much the best spread ever, if you take it with margarine or a butter.

Suddenly Tom walks in.

Tom: Eh..? Where did you get that shit from?

Me: (I was pretty much have a single nerve on my head and said..) One of my mates get it from me when she was back in Malaysia for a holiday. So, you wanna try some?

Tom: You what?! What is it inside?

Me: Eggs and coconut and some pandans.

Tom: Eggs?! Coconuts?! And paen..what?

Me: Doesn't matter, c'mon give it a go.

Tom: Nah.. don't wanna do it. It looks weird, I bet it is horrible.

Me: You f*ckin' what?

Luke: (Interrupts and said..) Yea, it taste really good. I've taste it and I'm still alive.

Tom: No..no.. I don't believe it. It is just weird.

Me: (Being persist and trying to force him to take it because of Tom's comment about the Kaya that pisses me off) C'mon mate, it isn't poison or some rubbish Mayo that you used to have.

Tom: Well, just tell me what it taste like before I do it.

Me: Sweet

Tom: You sure?

Me: .........................

Tom: (Put his finger in it) Erm.... it is sweet!

Me: .......... What do you think?

Tom: It's alrite.. it taste like caramel.

Me: (Flabbergasted) ......................!!!!!!!!

Luke: ...........................

Tom: Yea, you can't denied the fact that it is some sort of Asian caramel 'cause it taste the same. I bet you guys copying our recipe and make it a different name anyway.
(He then walked off)

Caramel?!!! I was like OMFG FFS, how could you compare a Kaya with a caramel!? It is no match for Kaya at all!(Well, that's not how some of the Brits like Tom sees it) But, what's wrong with his sense of taste?! It is one of the most shocking thing I've ever heard so far! Caramel = Kaya?! And you said we "copy" from you Brits?! >.<"" I don't know if I find that funny or what but... this is a conclusion from a Brit who lived in a village for most of his life in the central of the UK on our Malaysia's supreme spread - Kaya

Me: (Walked into our working area and I mumble..) Naive villager...

Tom: No mate... You are just eating weir....

Me: (Before he could complete his sentence) Naive villager...

Tom: ....

London Expo

Went to this comic convention 2 weeks back and it is really fun to see artistes and some classic cartoons as well(ignore the fact that, public transport in UK is actually getting worst, it took up to 4 hours for me to reach London from Northampton. But the good thing is, I got a free entrance despite being late :D).

I'm not sure whether this is the original car from the classic movie Ghostbusters or just a prototype, but the those lads there were saying it is actually the real one, so have to believe it somehow XD.
And then I met Tom Paterson, the cartoonist for his famous Dennis the Menace. He is an awesome guy with an awesome drawing skill!

I didn't really concentrate taking lots of pictures because I was exchanging some words with several professional artists/illustrators. I was hoping to see Carl Critchlow, Ralph Horsley or Greg Staples after noticing there's a Magic: The Gathering event going on, but sadly, they didn't appear.....(shame on you, organiser! XD)

Anyway, at the end before I leave, bought myself the original AKIRA's cel drawing & painting!! Haha!! I've been waiting this for a very very long time!

I bought this for £25 as case study on how the people(colorist) painted them so detail. They actually painted them using gouache(because it is washable and opaque) behind the transparent cel paper(a PVC) so that it is overlaying on top of a painted background and to be shoot under the camera. Imagine they have to do this in each drawings for a 3 hours long film without the help from the computer. Somehow, I did some calculations...

1 sec of animation = 12 drawings X 2 frames for each drawings = 24 frames/second(standard rate for classical animation)

3 Hours = 10 800 seconds = 259 200 frames = 129 600 drawings

So, 129 600 drawings X 3(rough animation, clean up, colour) = 388 800 drawings in total!!

Crazy Japanese!! Somemore this anime is the first ever anime that created history consisting perfect lip syncing!! Salute!

Marmite Guinness!! But it's an alchohol free and limited in the market, wtf! XD. I did have it with toast and it is phenomenal!! Purely on the basis that it had extra bitterness and very very "kao"(a Malaysian slang for viscous). In the nutshell, I got owned by it! Haha!!

...getting a little amount of stress this week, got myself a brand old car with non-promising insurance price and have got crucial deadlines to meet at the end of the week. Luckily, I drew myself something in order to get away from the stress BUT have to thank you to my online-brainy-mathematics-expert-future cum actuary mate that had a plan to do a drawing session and that's the basis why this is such a great opportunity to escape from the stress that I had. Ahh.. here she is:
She came out with a theme for me- to create a creature that is made of Wolf + Platypus + Racoon. I was like.. WTH? Anyway, I did come out with something and somehow I decided to give it to her as a gift.
Wolf + Platypus + Racoon = Woltycoon?!

Anyway, thank you for the short drawing session and my stress slowly dissolved.. and btw, your Manga style rocks as well! Cheers, Yingtuarist! XD

Time Flies...

Aih... my holiday in Malaysia for just a month isn't enough as I still missed a lot of fantastic food despite eating out all the time when I was back there XD. Nevertheless, the holiday was just amazing and.......I love my country! wahaha!!!

Anyway, I'm a bloke that is lazy to do loooong typing(this is why I'm an artist), so pictures tell a trillion stories.. or not XD
Right here is actually a "Drive through Taufu-Fa" in Ipoh old town.

I'm lucky that during that day, the queue wasn't long if compare to how it usually does.

Ipoh is still, I mean STILL famous for its cheap and delicious food even though its' trademark "Ipoh Hot Chick" are no longer in use... But anyway, few days later I went back to KL and it's not bad too even though it cost more on food! Eventually, I discovered a Japanese restaurant in Bangsar accidentally.Don't know if anyone out there see this before but this is definitely the most expensive Japanese restaurant I ever had in Malaysia.
I ordered a tempura set, consisted of miso soup and some little portions of pickled vegetables while "she" ordered a set of sushi, green beans and a stir fried mushroom. Total amount ---> RM175!

...Stir fried mushrooms! This is the most delicious stir fried mushrooms I ever had in my entire life so far! How the hell they stir fried it until I almost cry while eating because of its deliciousness.
Anyway people out there, you should try this meal if you have a chance to menjamu selera in this restaurant and I believe, it is a good recommendation. :D

I'm back in Malaysia last Friday, I can't get used to the hot and humid weather and I have breathing difficulties when I first arrived! I've been eating a lot, yes..lots of different varieties of food! Miss them so much although it's kinda unhealthy.. haha!
Anyway, life still the same to me, as I've got more freetime to continue participating the speed painting session organised by some lads. Here's the painting for the session yesterday:

Speed Painting

It's been a while since the last posting, I've been very busy with studio's work and meet some crucial deadlines. >.<(Help!) BUT, thanks to one of my mate, Randy who organised a "Speed Painting" session and I managed to escape the stress and enjoy painting once more! The first session was to paint a "humanoid creature" in 30 minutes and this is how I visualise it: The second session was much fun because more participants to share their ideas and concept as well! And the title is "Sea monster, zombie & cow creature" and the duration is 45 minutes.
Disaster strikes for me, because I didn't bring home the graphic tablet from the studio, therefore I've to do it traditionally.Very random... and doesn't look zombie/cow to me. -_- Well, at least it's a sea monster,hehe..
Anyway, I really do enjoy the session having so much painting together with so many talented people and enable to see their amazing concept as well. Thank you all!

My short film entitled "Mimos and the Egg" broke the deadlock once again and is being featured on Digital Arts magazine! o.O"(I didn't even know until one of my former uni mates told me about it and before this, Mimos and the Egg featured on frontpage/headline of CGTalk too) It is an honour to be featured and showcased on its DVD and to be frank, I really work my ass out making this shorts especially dealing with technical problems which is a pain in the ass! Theoretically, computers are just wank and cruel enough to "disintegrate" all your files without giving any sign of warnings, hence the reason why I prefer to do a traditional work using paper and cels instead of the retarded machine that suka-suka then eradicate my files. But nevertheless, Thank you Digital Arts!!

28 Days To Go...

Yeass, 28 days to go and I will be back to Malaysia for holiday. It's been 2 years away and I miss all my family and friends back there and definitely miss the foods a lot! While I'm away, I found out that I missed so many good things in Malaysia especially when there are a lot of newly opened restaurants! Nasi lemak, Roti Canai, Putu Mayam, Hakka Mee, Chee Cheong Fun, Otak-otak, Satay, Char Kuey Teow, Fat Boy Lok-Lok, and especially my hometown, Ipoh's Chicken Rice & Hor Fun, etc. Argh..!! cheap and nice, unlike here, where you can only find these limited meals in London and Manchester and it cost a fortune(approximate 7 to 10 quids!).
Aikss.. I really love to eat.. have to travel around to search for food and ops! I've just realise that I've got a massive problem when I got back- I doubt if I can still able to start a car.. Yes.. after stopping driving for 2 years, I think I've lost the ability to drive.. HELP!!!

Anyway, Malaysia Kebanggaanku, I WILL BE BACK!!

Feeling "demotivated" at work....

..... because recently, the studio has been sheltered with silence and echoes. One of my next door neighbour aka colleague, has been away for a week on a holiday in Berlin and somehow I can't get used to work without his annoying sounds and his sarcasm! Sounds gay, but don't get me wrong, I ain't gay! But, besides me, even my boss and other colleagues have been working quietly and eventually they told me the same thing too! Wahaha!! How funny was that! And the thing is, he deserve to go on holiday despite having to face some crucial task after that 'cause he planned to celebrate his b'day on the 29th Feb in Germany. Yea.. boss also memaafkan dia la, having born on the leap year :D

Earthquake in England

It was about 1 or 2 am I can't remember as I was sleeping, I felt that I have been "shaken".
I thought it was a dream or I was shivering because of the cold outsideuntil I saw one of my mate's captions on the msn stating "Earthquake". Besides that, I realised that my mini table was slanted a bit =.=" Damn! I need to move out soon from that small room that has several cracks on the walls and ceilings when I first moved in... and certainly what have happened this morning, really freaks me out more! Let me just hope that it won't happen again.

Workplace of moi!

Finally I've got an opportunity to snap a few pics and show some part of the studio. It's actually became massive after "Big Boss" took over the other block and expend studio's capacity.

Yeap.. and this is my working area. The studio is brilliant, but the main problem always occur during lunch break. I have to have my colleague drive miles away for 30 minutes and do some "ta pao" in order to eat a so-called "proper meal". As for the "unproper meal" would be just a toast!

Yea... this is my very very proper meal. I take this kind of stuff almost every single day and if I'm lucky enough, I'll be able to substitute the baguette for a tuna pasta. Guess how much does it cost for the total meal above? Is £2.50.
Dear fellow Malaysian, thou shall be lucky to have so many restaurants surrounding you. I remembered when I used to study in The One Academy college, all of us used to grumble and complained for not having enough choices. These are basically what we said:
"Ming Tien again ar? sien la.." "Wa lao, Nikmat meh? Can't fill stomach la" "Kim Gary ar?? No money loh" "Pyramid?!Too far lar.. so hot, beh tahan" "Raspberry again ar? Eat bread mana eh sai?"

Back old days in Bristol

Well, among all places I've been living in, Bristol would be my preferred place! Although some of you might disagree with me, but I really like the lifestyle and environment there. Actually I was introduce to this place by "her". Hmm..I remember one time I went to a zoo and I saw this:I have no idea what this is.. It seems like Zebra + Tapir + Horse >.<" Then.. Yes! A Mouse Deer aka Sang Kancil! I didn't see this back in Malaysia even though I've been to Zoo Negara but I got to see one of this in here! Sorry the image a bit dark and blurry because it is taken in a dark room underground. Then the rest of the animals that I saw are just normal like the lions, gorillas, seals penguins.. you name it.

Later on, I went on to find some food around Long Ashton in Bristol. Have been walking with "her" for like 45 minutes looking for food around but only see pubs! Damn!! In that time, I wish I was in Malaysia 'cause food are everywhere! While walking half way through the road and at last something illuminate us! We found a Jamaican restaurant, yes..Caribbean food. We dashed in without even see the price! Haha.. was too hungry that time. On the menu I saw it wrote "Jay Deluxe" and I was like "hmm.. sounds promising though. Okla, give it a try!"
The "Deluxe" came.. Beef burgers with chips and coleslaw and the conclusion is... IT WANK!!
The Beef is overcooked and it is sooo hard! The chips are even worst! Cold and soft! Only the coleslaw are fine to me. I doubt next time I will take Caribbean food again.

Right after our meal, me and "her" walked down a little further to look for a coach.. Then..disaster strike...
It's a MALAYSIAN restaurant!!! ARGHH!!! If we keep our patience and keep on walking, we would have.. I mean I would have a niceeee meal!! Lesson to learn here: PATIENCE IS THE KEY!!

Anyway, human out there, I've decided to make my blog active by constantly posting interesting pictures of my daily lifestyle. Too many pictures and too many things happened back in 2006 and 2007 plus, with my laziness... I feel it is a tedious work to search all the old pictures and resize them one by one.. >.<

This is Lobster Pizza which I had in London and they really put a giant lobster on it! Guess how much? It is £35 >.< Had it once in a lifetime, it's ok la.. rite.. kekeke! But without a shadow of doubt I will have it again next time!

Well first thing first, I don't do blog usually but seems blogging is becoming a famous trend now, I opt to give it a try too.

Right mates, first of all, I gonna show you boys and girls my own cooking when I was in UK for the past 2 years till now :D All feedbacks, critiques are most welcome!(Especially to those who are an expert in cooking).

As you can see the date taken in the picture, it is way back in 2006! This is my first successful meal when I step into this land. Yea.. it is in May, for the last 4 months, I've been taking breads and fish and chips! I mempersembahkan"Nasi Goreng Julian".
Unfortunately, it taste a bit awful because I put too much turmeric in it and the stupid frozen beans made it even wank!!

Tada! This one.. hmmm "Sweet and Sour Pork" AKA "Gu Lok Yok". It taste not bad, but the picture taste better. Eventually I taruh quite lots of random ingredients like paprika(a lot!!), oregano, vinegar, garlic powder, and some shits with the corect timing hence the reason why it is more delicious than my nasi goreng! Thanks to ASDA's paprika! XD

*p/s: So sorry I'm a late blogger, but trust me.. I've been getting better now, so be patient and keep and eye on my blog. More to come next!
